STATESBORO, Ga. — A tragic shooting outside a popular nightlife spot in Statesboro early Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, has left one man dead, and police are now pleading with the public for information that could help solve the case.

According to the Statesboro Police Department (SPD), officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:01 a.m. in the parking lot at 200 Lanier Drive, home to Cowboy’s Bar and Smoke Crave. When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Tre G. Mincey lying unresponsive on the ground. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Mincey was pronounced dead at the scene from a fatal gunshot wound.
Detectives used a portable fingerprint scanner to identify the victim, and his next of kin have since been notified. The SPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau swiftly launched a full-scale investigation, collecting evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and analyzing Flock camera data from the area. These tools are being used to track any vehicles that may have left the scene shortly after the shooting.
Investigators said multiple people were present during the incident, yet none stayed to speak with responding officers. Authorities believe those witnesses may hold vital information that could be crucial in identifying the suspect or understanding what led to the shooting. “We urge anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward,” police emphasized. “Even small details can make a big difference in helping us deliver justice for the victim and his family.”
The Bulloch County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Mincey’s body will be taken to the GBI Coastal Regional Lab for an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death. While detectives continue to follow leads, no suspect information or motive has been released at this time. SPD officials say the investigation remains active, with officers working around the clock to piece together the events that led to the deadly shooting.
