Man Killed in Early-Morning Shooting in South St. Louis

Authorities in St. Louis are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man early Sunday morning in the city’s south side. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), officers responded to reports of gunfire around 12:20 a.m. on October 26 in the 2800 block of Gasconade Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, identified as 32-year-old Stanley Scott, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and critically injured. Witnesses nearby were reportedly attempting to provide first aid before police arrived. Officers joined in performing life-saving efforts until emergency medical personnel took over and transported Scott to a nearby hospital.

Despite extensive efforts to save him, officials later confirmed that Scott was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Detectives from the SLMPD Homicide Division have since taken over the case and are working to determine what led to the shooting. Investigators are reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and canvassing the neighborhood for surveillance footage that may provide clues about the suspect or suspects involved.

At this stage, police have not released any information regarding possible motives or identified any suspects connected to the case.
