Alexandria Man Killed in Early-Morning Crash on Oxon Hill Road

OXON HILL, Md. — Authorities in Prince George’s County are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early Sunday morning, claiming the life of a 57-year-old Alexandria man. Police identified the victim as Percell Jerome Veney Jr., who died at the scene of the crash on October 26, 2025.

According to the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), the incident occurred around 12:55 a.m. in the 6300 block of Oxon Hill Road. Preliminary findings indicate that Veney was traveling westbound when, for reasons that remain under investigation, his vehicle crossed into the eastbound turning lane and collided with another car traveling in the opposite direction.

Emergency responders from local fire and rescue units arrived swiftly at the scene but were unable to save Veney, who was pronounced deceased on-site. The driver of the second vehicle, described as an adult woman, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Her name has not yet been released pending notification of family members.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit of PGPD has taken over the investigation. Detectives are working to determine what caused Veney to veer out of his lane. Authorities said factors such as driver impairment, fatigue, or mechanical failure have not been ruled out, and additional information will be released as the case develops.
