19-year-old Woman Killed, Two Injured in Tragic Clermont County Crash

OHIO TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A devastating single-vehicle crash in Clermont County claimed the life of a young woman and left two men seriously injured on Friday afternoon, October 24, 2025. The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the deadly accident, which occurred around 3:23 p.m. on State Route 749 near milepost 4 in Ohio Township.

According to preliminary reports, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 75-year-old William Gabriel of Amelia was traveling eastbound when it veered off the right side of the roadway for reasons still under investigation. The pickup truck struck two utility poles before coming to rest off the roadway, leaving behind a scene of significant wreckage and downed power lines.

Inside the vehicle were two passengers — 19-year-old Natalie Gilreath of Cincinnati and 21-year-old Trail Shelton of Amelia. Tragically, Gilreath suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators confirmed that she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Gabriel and Shelton were both transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. It remains unclear whether they were restrained.

Emergency responders from multiple agencies rushed to the scene, including the Pierce Township Police Department, Pierce Township Fire and EMS, Ohio Township Fire and EMS, UC AirCare, and Gray’s Towing. Crews worked for hours to clear debris, repair damaged utility poles, and reopen the roadway. The accident caused temporary traffic disruptions and power outages in the area.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including possible factors such as speed, mechanical failure, or driver impairment. Officials have not yet released any further details, but they are urging motorists to remain alert and cautious, especially on rural roadways where visibility and road conditions can change quickly.

This heartbreaking loss has left the Clermont County community mourning the death of Natalie Gilreath, a young woman whose life was tragically cut short. As her family and friends grieve, authorities are reminding all drivers and passengers of the importance of wearing seat belts — a simple but vital step that can make the difference between life and death in an unexpected crash.
