AIKEN, S.C. — A 29-year-old man from Aiken was killed Friday morning after his vehicle overturned in a single-car crash on Wire Road. Authorities confirmed the victim as Ke’Lonte Stanley, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred around 7:15 a.m. in the 3000 block of Wire Road, near Uncle Duck Road. Emergency crews arrived to find a 1994 Acura sedan that had veered off the roadway and rolled over. Investigators said the car had been traveling northbound before it left the pavement, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Stanley was reportedly ejected during the crash and sustained fatal injuries. Chief Deputy Coroner Eric J. Ramey confirmed he was pronounced dead at 7:45 a.m. despite resuscitation efforts. No other vehicles were involved, and no passengers were reported in the car.
The victim had recently shared pride in his vehicle, posting on Facebook just a week earlier to thank the person who sold him the car. In his post, he wrote: “You sold me a solid car. I get love everywhere in the Legend.” The bittersweet message has now taken on tragic meaning as family, friends, and the community mourn his sudden loss.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Aiken County Coroner’s Office. A toxicology report is pending as part of the standard process in fatal crashes. Authorities have not released details on whether speed, road conditions, or other factors contributed to the vehicle leaving the roadway.
The crash remains under active investigation, and officials urge drivers to exercise caution on rural stretches of Wire Road, where curves, narrow lanes, and higher speeds can increase the risk of serious accidents. Loved ones are remembering Stanley as a young man gone too soon, whose final words online reflected joy over simple blessings in life.
