LEE COUNTY, Ala. — A tragic fire in the Beulah Community claimed the life of 34-year-old Kasey Hartley on Tuesday evening, according to officials. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and coroner confirmed the fatal incident, which remains under investigation.

Deputies and fire crews were called to the 8100 block of Lee Road 252 after reports of a mobile home fire. When first responders entered the residence, they found Hartley unresponsive inside. Despite multiple life-saving attempts at the scene, she was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. CST, said Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton.
Sheriff Jay Jones stated that rescue crews made every effort to revive Hartley before confirming her death. “Our deputies and emergency personnel responded quickly, but unfortunately the victim could not be saved,” Jones said. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigators are working to piece together the circumstances that led to the deadly blaze.
Hartley’s body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy. Officials hope the examination will provide more clarity about the cause of death and whether any medical factors contributed to the tragedy. Investigators have not indicated whether foul play is suspected at this time.
The Beulah Volunteer Fire Department, with support from the Salem Volunteer Fire Department, battled the flames until the fire was extinguished. Their swift action prevented the fire from spreading further, but the mobile home sustained significant damage. Authorities praised the coordinated response of local fire crews, noting that the investigation could take time as evidence is carefully reviewed.
The incident has left the Beulah community in shock, as neighbors mourn the sudden loss of Hartley. Community members have expressed condolences to her family while awaiting more information from investigators. Sheriff Jones urged anyone with knowledge about the fire to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office as the probe continues.
