Manhunt Underway After Double Homicide in Fulton County, Arkansas

FULTON COUNTY, Ark. — A massive manhunt is underway after authorities discovered the bodies of two women in the Agnos area between October 20 and 21, in what investigators are calling a double homicide. The Arkansas State Police and Sharp County Sheriff’s Office are leading the investigation and have issued a statewide Be on the Lookout (BOLO) for 32-year-old Jacob Lowell J. Smith, who has been named a person of interest in the case.

Smith is also wanted on a statewide extradition warrant for absconding and violating probation and parole conditions in Arkansas. According to Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell, the initial alert was issued early Tuesday for public and officer safety and was later upgraded once the warrant was officially entered. Authorities warn that Smith should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Investigators say the two female victims were discovered on October 21 inside one of the women’s homes in the Agnos community. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Both bodies have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Officials have not confirmed whether the victims had any prior connection to Smith.

Authorities believe Smith may have stolen a 2004 red Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with Arkansas license plate BEH-93R from the crime scene. Two firearms — a Sears pump-action shotgun with a black painted stock and a Charter Arms .38 Special revolver — were also reported missing. Law enforcement agencies across multiple counties are assisting in the search.

Smith is described as a white male, 6’2”, 165 pounds, with a tattoo of a bow tie on his neck and additional facial tattoos. He was last booked on September 30 in Van Buren County for possession of a controlled substance and has a criminal record dating back to 2017. Investigators are urging anyone who sees Smith or the stolen vehicle to avoid approaching him and instead call 911 or contact the Arkansas State Police immediately.

The investigation remains active as law enforcement works to piece together what led to the deadly incident. Fulton County Sheriff Jake Smith is expected to release an official statement as more details become available. For now, authorities are focused on tracking down the suspect before he can harm anyone else.
