Miltona Man Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash Near Parkers Prairie

PARKERS PRAIRIE, Minn. — Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died in a multi-vehicle crash near Parkers Prairie on Sunday morning as 45-year-old David Anderson of Miltona. The fatal collision occurred shortly after 11 a.m. along Highway 29, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Investigators said Anderson was traveling north on Highway 29 when a minivan attempted to turn into a driveway, crossing his path. Anderson’s motorcycle struck the van before colliding with a car that was also traveling in the area. The impact threw Anderson from his motorcycle, causing fatal injuries. Despite immediate emergency response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities reported that the drivers of both the minivan and the car were unharmed. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been factors at this time, though the investigation remains ongoing. Officials are also reviewing speed, visibility, and road conditions as potential contributing elements.

Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded to the crash, including troopers from the Minnesota State Patrol, deputies from Otter Tail and Douglas Counties, the Parkers Prairie Fire Department, the Department of Natural Resources, Parkers Prairie Ambulance, and North Ambulance Service. The stretch of Highway 29 was temporarily closed as authorities cleared debris and reconstructed the sequence of events.

Residents in the Parkers Prairie area expressed sadness over the tragedy, noting that the rural highway has seen several serious crashes over the years due to frequent turning traffic and limited sight lines. Officials reminded drivers to be extra cautious when entering or exiting driveways and side roads along high-speed routes.

The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the incident and will release additional details as they become available. Anderson’s death marks another devastating reminder of the dangers faced by motorcyclists on rural highways and the importance of vigilance from all drivers sharing the road.
