CAMDEN, N.J. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 29-year-old Camden man on Saturday afternoon, marking yet another tragic act of violence in the city. Officials identified the victim as Bruce Dixon, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. on October 18, 2025, after officers from the Camden County Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 1200 block of Morton Street. When officers arrived, they found Dixon suffering from gunshot wounds and unresponsive on the sidewalk. Emergency personnel quickly transported him to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just minutes later, at approximately 2:04 p.m.
Detectives have not yet disclosed what led up to the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified. Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing, with detectives working to piece together the sequence of events and determine a possible motive. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby buildings and interviewing witnesses in the area.
