RNDC CEO Bob Hendrickson, a Visionary Leader and Mentor dies unexpectedly

The Texas business community and the national beverage industry are mourning the sudden passing of Robert “Bob” Hendrickson, the Chief Executive Officer and President of Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC). His unexpected death has left a deep sense of loss across the industry, marking the end of a remarkable era of leadership, innovation, and integrity.

Bob Hendrickson was widely recognized as a visionary executive whose career helped shape RNDC into one of the most influential wine and spirits distribution companies in the United States. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void not only within the company he helped build but throughout the entire beverage industry, where he was admired as both a pioneering leader and a compassionate mentor to many.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, Hendrickson was a cornerstone of the modern wine and spirits distribution business. He began his professional journey with E. & J. Gallo Winery in Los Angeles, where he developed his skills in sales and marketing. His natural leadership and people-centered approach quickly set him apart. After four years with Gallo, he joined the Julius Schepps Company, serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ten years, where he gained a deep understanding of business operations and relationship-building.

In 1997, Hendrickson played a key role in merging Tarrant Company and Julius Schepps Company, resulting in the formation of Republic Beverage Company. His vision and guidance during that time helped establish a strong foundation for what would later become RNDC. When Republic Beverage merged with National Distributing Company in 2006, Hendrickson’s steady leadership was instrumental in creating the national powerhouse known today as RNDC.

Over the years, Hendrickson rose through the company’s leadership ranks, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President before being appointed CEO and President in 2025. Under his direction, RNDC expanded its national footprint, modernized its operations, and strengthened its reputation for excellence, integrity, and innovation.

Beyond his corporate success, Hendrickson was deeply involved in advancing the beverage industry as a whole. He served on the Board of Directors for the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, where his insight helped shape national policies benefiting distributors across the country. A graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Business Management, Hendrickson was admired not only for his achievements but also for his humility, kindness, and ability to inspire others. His passing represents an immeasurable loss — but his legacy of leadership, compassion, and excellence will continue to guide the industry for generations to come.
