FORT WORTH, Texas — A 31-year-old man was killed and five other people were injured early Sunday in what police describe as a gang-related shooting inside a crowded bar in Fort Worth’s West 7th entertainment district. The incident happened around 1:40 a.m. at Social LIVV, located at 3005 Bledsoe Street, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
Authorities identified the victim as Patrique Allen, who was shot in the upper torso and pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders treated several other victims before transporting them to nearby hospitals. Police said one man and four women were injured in the gunfire, though all five are expected to survive. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and police confirmed they were in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon.
According to homicide detectives, multiple suspects opened fire inside the bar before fleeing the scene on foot. Investigators believe the shooting was unprovoked but tied to gang activity. “The motive appears to be gang-related, but the investigation is still preliminary and subject to change,” police said in a statement. Detectives recovered several shell casings and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area as they work to identify the shooters.
The shooting unfolded in one of Fort Worth’s busiest nightlife areas, drawing a heavy police presence and closing part of Bledsoe Street for several hours. Authorities said the violence has shaken the popular West 7th district, which has been the scene of previous deadly incidents. In September 2023, TCU student Wes Smith was fatally shot outside a nearby bar, formerly known as Your Mom’s House. The suspect in that case later pleaded guilty to murder and received a 60-year prison sentence in June of this year.
Sunday’s deadly incident also capped a violent weekend across the city. Fort Worth police investigated three separate homicides on Friday, including a stabbing that killed a 15-year-old student near Polytechnic High School and seriously injured his father, a shooting that left an 18-year-old woman dead in a restaurant parking lot, and a robbery at a gas station where an employee was killed.
Police are urging anyone with information about the Bledsoe Street shooting to contact the Fort Worth Police Homicide Unit at 817-392-4330 or reach out anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477). Investigators say community cooperation will be key in bringing the suspects to justice.
