77-Year-Old Man Killed While Retrieving Mail in Tragic Christian County Crash

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. — A quiet Friday evening turned tragic when a 77-year-old man was struck and killed while checking his mailbox along Lovers Lane near Romeo Drive. Authorities have identified the victim as William Bouldin, a longtime Christian County resident whose life was cut short in a heartbreaking roadside accident.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a serious two-vehicle collision around 9:41 p.m. Investigators determined that Bouldin had parked his SUV along the side of Lovers Lane and was retrieving mail from his mailbox when another SUV, driven by Douglas Jones, collided with both Bouldin and his vehicle.

Emergency responders from Hopkinsville EMS arrived within minutes and began life-saving efforts at the scene. Bouldin was rushed to Jennie Stuart Health, where medical personnel continued CPR. Despite their efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Authorities described the crash as a devastating and unexpected loss that has deeply affected the local community.

A woman who was seated inside Bouldin’s SUV at the time of the collision, along with the driver of the second vehicle, Douglas Jones, were both transported to the same hospital for treatment of their injuries.
