Authorities in New Hampshire are investigating a heartbreaking single-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of three young adults late Tuesday night in Francestown. The accident occurred just after 11 p.m. along Route 47, also known as Bennington Road, a winding rural highway that connects several small towns in southern New Hampshire. Emergency crews rushed to the scene following reports of a serious collision.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a heavily damaged vehicle that had veered off the road, struck a telephone pole, and overturned. All three occupants were ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the victims as 19-year-old Aiden Brissett of Bennington, 19-year-old Seth Fowler of Antrim, and 18-year-old Luis Torres, also of Antrim. Police confirmed that none of the young men survived the impact.
Preliminary findings suggest the vehicle was traveling south on Route 47 when, for reasons still under investigation, it lost control and left the right side of the roadway. Investigators are examining whether factors such as excessive speed, driver distraction, poor visibility, or a possible mechanical issue may have contributed to the crash. Francestown Fire Chief Larry Kullgren said the collision caused extensive damage to the area’s power lines after the vehicle snapped a telephone pole in half. The impact left most of the town without electricity for several hours overnight. Utility company Eversource dispatched emergency crews to replace the damaged pole and restore power, which was fully reestablished by 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
State police closed Route 47 for nearly five hours as investigators documented the scene and collected evidence. Tire marks, debris, and the car’s final resting position are being analyzed to determine the vehicle’s speed and trajectory before impact. Autopsies and a full mechanical inspection of the car are also planned to provide additional clarity.
