ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Authorities are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that occurred late Sunday night inside a residence on Chinon Drive, leaving an elderly couple dead and the community in shock.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Chinon Drive at approximately 11:36 p.m. on October 5, 2025, following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered two victims inside the home, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate emergency efforts, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have identified the deceased as Nicki Ketterling, 77, and Larry Ketterling, 77. Preliminary findings indicate that Larry Ketterling fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. Officials confirmed that no other individuals were involved, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
